The day after Christmas was going to be a Sunday, and EJ and I were taking leftovers to a friends house for a post Christmas pot luck get together. We did bring some leftovers, roasted vegetables that may yet find their way to a soup, but I wanted to make a Christmas soup, assuming that one existed. Actually lots of them exist, but this one, from Alton Brown, featured beans, kielbasa, and kale…and sounded great. It turns out to be both easy, and one of the best received soups I’ve made so far. When I served it out it was some time before any sound other than spoons scraping against bowls could be heard.
