In my dreams, I can run,
\nsomething I’ve always wanted to do
\nin real life, but never had the wind
\nor the the stamina for
\n(really, I’ve tried, and it’s not pretty).<\/p>\n

But in my dreams I often find myself
\njogging through the scenery
\nin a cadence that eats up distance
\nas effortlessly as the running of an avatar
\nbut with a feeling of strength and
\nfluidity you can’t get watching
\npixels dance along.<\/p>\n

I dreamed that I ran up wide stairs
\ntwo at a time, no less.
\nFeeling my muscles compress and expand,
\nnever thinking of my tired knees
\nor burning lungs, or feeling my whole frame
\nshake with each jolting impact.<\/p>\n

I used to take stairs two at a time,
\nif not running, perhaps still with something
\nakin to a bound.<\/p>\n

And I remember thinking once, watching
\nthe rest of the world trudge up stairs,
\nwill I ever come to that?<\/p>\n

That’s one question answered, anyway.<\/p>\n

Now I wonder how much further
\nI can run on until I run out of dreams.<\/p>\n
